About Us
Mountain Heights Lodge is located just 2km south of National Park Village. We are an ideal place to base yourself for the various activities in and around the Tongariro National Park.
Ruapehu Adventure Rides (guided quad bike activities) is based at Mountain Heights Lodge. www.ruapehuadventurerides.co.nz
Mountain Heights Lodge has 6 comfortable self contained motel units, which are located adjacent to the lodge and are perfect for families & friends. The units have fully equipped kitchenettes which allow you to cater for yourselves.
We have Bed & Breakfast rooms in the main Lodge. Continental breakfast is provided to have at your own leisure. B&B guests have access to a large lounge which has a log fire for the colder days.
A private hot spa is available to all guests.
We are ideally located for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. We can arrange transport to & from the hike in the summer & we can also arrange guided trips for both the summer & winter Crossing experience.
Mountain Heights Lodge is perfectly situated for both Whakapapa and Turoa ski areas. The Lodge is about 20 minutes drive from Whakapapa and 45 minutes drive from Turoa.
We also have the start of a cycle track on the property Marton Sash and Door a Grade 3 (18 km) and just down the road Fishers Track Grade 2 (27 km) we have lock up facilities for you bike and a wash down area.
As we are in the center of the North Island, we are a great place to stay a few days so you can relax and unpack your suitcase. If we have a bad weather day in the National Park, why not take a day trip to Taupo, or the Waitomo Caves, then come back to the comfort of your room.
